Jean Bayles

Velma Jean (Brewer) Bayles, 87, of Pryor, passed away on Friday, July 8, 2016 in Claremore, Oklahoma. She was born on December 14, 1928 in Middletown, Ohio; the daughter of Millard Brewer and Etta (Spencer) Brewer. She worked as a real estate agent most of her life. She has lived in the Pryor area for 2 years, coming from Apple Valley, California. Jean was a member of the Church of the Valley in Apple Valley, California and was very active within the church; she enjoyed being a part of the meal ministry. She and her husband enjoyed traveling and taking photographs of their journeys. Jean also looked forward to entertaining and having people over for fellowship. She enjoyed working in her yard and tending to her roses. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her and leaves behind many wonderful memories for all to cherish. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 15, 2016 in the Pryor Creek Baptist Church. Interment will be in the Greenhill Memorial Park Cemetery in Rancho Palos Verde, California. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m., until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, July 14, 2016 in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel. She is survived by her son, Kelly Hansen and wife Bernadette of Pryor, Oklahoma; daughters, Donna Bair of Arizona and Marian Oler and husband Kent of Texas; brother, Kendale Richard and wife Mildred Lansaw of Kentucky; sisters, Yvonne, Donna, Minnie, and Beverly all of Kentucky; 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Millard and Etta Brewer, husbands, Dean Hansen and Paul Bayles; brothers, Millard and Lenvil; and sisters, Lahoma, Dorothy and Elizabeth.
