Jeanette Arlene Smith, 92, of Salina, passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2016 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born on January 18, 1924 in McCallsburg, Iowa; the daughter of Harold and Esther (Hall) Schauper. She married Kenneth Smith and was a loving wife, who was so proud to be a military wife and mother. She looked forward to spending time with those she loved and cherished each moment she had to spend with them. Jeanette was a member of the Eastern Star Locust Grove #382. She loved painting Norwegian themes, Rosemaling and ancient Norwegian crafts, and needlework. She leaves behind many wonderful memories and will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 13, 2016 in the First Christian Presbyterian Church in Pryor with Pastor Anna Hubbard officiating. Jeanette is survived by her sons, Kenneth Smith, Jr., and wife Peggy of Salina, Oklahoma, and Steven Smith and wife Lynn of Wallingford, Connecticut; daughters, Judy Thompson and husband LaVerne of Elk River, Minnesota, Pamela Harbin and husband Gary of Kansas City, Missouri, and Robin Stoner and husband Garry of Newton, Iowa; 14 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Esther Schauper, her husband, Kenneth Smith, daughter, Vicky Joy, brothers, Gerald Schauper, Harold Schauper, Jr., and Robert Schauper; sister, Evelyn Harding, and grandson, Richard Smith.
