Jerry Roady

Jerry Glenn Roady, 60, of Pryor, passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born on August 19, 1952. Jerry spent his childhood in Elmore City, where he lived for 20 years. He later attended East Central State University in Ada and received a Bachelor Degree in Accounting. He married Mary Narita Lovelady on February 4, 1972 in Plano, Texas. Jerry was the Pastor of the Our Oasis Baptist Church in Pryor. He also served as the Missions Director of the Baptist Missionary Association and the Treasurer for the Oklahoma Morning Star Association. Jerry also enjoyed spending time with his family, golfing and woodworking. Jerry was an OU fan and loved watching all their games. He loved the Lord, and sharing the Word of God with everyone around him. Funeral Services for Jerry will be held at 10:00 a.m., June 14, 2013 in the Our Oasis Baptist Church in Pryor,Oklahoma with Brother David Pickard and Brother Mike Mobly officiating. Interment will be in the Katie Cemetery in Katie, Oklahoma with Caleb Whitmire, Justin Hobbs, Eddie Garcia, Wayland Whitmire, Jesse Rowland, and Bobby Hagen serving as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers will be Todd Hagar, Mike Baugus, Matt Qualls, Aaron McArthur, and Gene Phillips. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., on Thursday, June 13 in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel in Pryor. Jerry is survived by his wife, Narita Roady, of the home; his parents, Rosalyn and Eddie Brooks of Elmore City, Oklahoma; 4 daughters, Aimee and husband Justin Hobbs of Pryor, Oklahoma, Amber and husband Wayland Whitmire of Claremore, Oklahoma, Ashley and husband Eddie Garcia of Pryor, Oklahoma and Indai Rowland and husband Jesse Rowland of Pryor, Oklahoma; 2 brothers, Eddie Brooks of Rusk, Texas and Shelby Brooks of Elmore City, Oklahoma; 1 sister, Marilyn Brooks of Moore, Oklahoma; 6 grandchildren, Caleb Whitmire, Seth Hobbs, Caleb Hobbs, Jordan Hobbs, Abigail Hobbs, and Nathan Rowland. He is preceded in death by his father, Jim Delbert Roady and two brothers, Jimmy and Robert Roady.
