Jimmy Backwater Jr.

Jimmy Backwater Jr., 55, of Eucha, Oklahoma, passed away on Friday, August 24, 2012 in Pryor, Oklahoma. Jimmy was born on May 19, 1957 in Claremore, Oklahoma, the son of Jim Backwater Sr. and Katie (Wofford) Backwater. He worked for Global Tank as a machine operator in construction. Jimmy was a member of the Holy Mountain Praise and Worship Center in Kenwood, Oklahoma. He enjoyed listening to music and watching movies. Jimmy also enjoyed going to the library and reading, especially his Bible. He enjoyed doing bead work. Jimmy loved his family and the time spent with him. He leaves us much too soon and will be so very missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at 2 p.m. in the Holy Mountain Praise and Worship Center with Reverends Rick Manis and Sue Chancellor officiating. Interment will follow in the Little Rock Cemetery with Dewayne Bendabout, Larry Fisher, Johnny Pickup Jr., Rick Sutter, Leo Grass and Richard Leach. Honorary casket bearers are Jason Bendabout, Victor Owen Pickup and Kiley Sutter. The family will receive friends and family at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. at the church in Kenwood, Oklahoma. He is survived by his sons, William Backwater of Jay, OK and Matthew Backwater of Jay, OK; his daughter, Vanessa Blossom of Locust Grove, OK; his brothers Wiley and wife, Clara Backwater of Locust Grove, OK, Willis and wife, Linda Backwater of Salina, OK, Billy and wife, Karen Backwater of Pryor, OK; his sisters, Josephine and husband, John Summerfield of Eucha, OK, Geneva and husband, Larry Doerflinger of Claremore, OK, Mary and husband, Rick Sutter of Claremore, OK; many other relatives and friends.
