Jimmy Ray Beck, 77, of Pryor, passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2021, at his home in Pryor. He was born on December 24, 1943 in Claremore, Oklahoma to James and Nancy Mae (Pritchett) Beck. Jimmy was raised in the Ecotha Community. He graduated high school with the class of 1961. After high school Jimmy went on to Northeastern College. Jimmy has lived in the Pryor area for the last 45 years. During this time, he worked for Mitchell Surveying and Land Company as well as Air Heat Systems. Jimmy attended the First United Methodist Church in Pryor. Jimmy enjoyed hanging out at the Eastside Café, Green Country Gun & Pawn, and Doc’s Gun Shop. Jimmy enjoyed going to gun shows and helping his buddies set-up and trade. He loved to read his Bible and any kind of western books.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at Haner- Adair Cemetery near Locust Grove. Pastor Roger Parker will officiate. Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M., to 8:00 P.M., Monday, January 25, 2021 at Shipman’s Funeral Home Chapel. Jimmy is survived by his step-son, Jason Mitchell of Pryor; sister- in- law, Beverly Mitchell. Special friends Gid Graham, Marty Ward, Steve Keys, Danny Callison, Mike Kennedy, and his church family. He is preceded in death by his parents, his Aunt Elsie, and his Uncle Miney “Skeeter” Leonard.
