Jimmy Bruffett, Sr.

Jimmy Darrell Bruffett, 68, Pryor, Oklahoma, passed away on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at his home. He was born on August 14, 1949 in Kansas City, Kansas, the son of Floyd Martin Bruffett and Betty (Atkins) Bruffett. He married Mary Shrum on June 28, 1968 in Aurora, Missouri. Jimmy worked for Clark's Redi Mix and Pryor Pawn and Used Cars. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and working in his vegetable garden. He enjoyed playing dominos with his friends at the Pryor Rescue Mission. Jimmy will be so very missed by all who knew and loved him.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 16, 2018 at 2 p.m. in the Shipman's Funeral Chapel with Reverend Lorne Beck officiating. He is survived by his wife, Mary of the home; sons, Jimmy Bruffett Jr. of Adair, OK; daughters, Teresa Mason of Spavinaw, OK and Lesley Thornton and husband, Gary of Adair, OK; brother, Floyd Bruffett and wife, Debbie of Missouri; sisters, Linda Bruffett of Aurora, MO, Karen Kelley of Aurora, MO and Melinda Bruffett of Miami, OK; 16 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; many other friends and relatives. He is preceded by his parents, Floyd and Betty Bruffett; granddaughter, LaTisha Thornton; brother, Carl Bruffett; sister, Doris Norman.
