Jimmy C. Lewis, 74, of Pryor, Oklahoma, went to heaven at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 8, 2011. Jimmy was born on October 28, 1936 in Pryor, Oklahoma, the son of Clyde Curtis Lewis and Geneva (Mustain) Lewis. Jimmy Lewis lived a full life. Those who knew Jim, knew he was a man of faith, always there for anyone who needed him and always about his Father God's business. He and his late wife, Patty took in 35 foster children, the most abused, one at a time. Their burden for others was apparent also in their missions and helping the Jewish people to return to Jerusalem; always putting others needs before their own. He loved working in the Royal Rangers and the youth, opening their home to them and helping them grow into Godly men and women. Jim was a faithful dad who taught his whole family to love God, family and others, working hard to provide for their families needs. He was our Hero! He was a prayer warrior, a love-struck husband, a stern, hardworking father to his three sons and a gentle spoiling grandpa to his grandchildren. He was a man's man, strong and tall, faithful to his Lord and all who knew him. Jimmy has fought the good fight, kept the faith and finished his course. A Celebration of Jimmy's life will be held on Friday, October 14, 2011 at 2 p.m. in the First Assembly of God in Pryor, Oklahoma with Reverend Ronnie Smith officiating. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery with John Barry, D.M. Parker, Vaughn Atkinson, Jerry Shearer, Tracy Purnell and John Flud. Honorary casket bearers are Doug Kellogg, Mac Cody and J. T. Purnell. The family will receive friends and family at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday evening.
