Jimmy Dale Rush, a cherished member of the Pryor community, passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at the age of 82. Born on January 13, 1942, Jimmy dedicated much of his life to serving and protecting the people of Mayes County, making an indelible mark on the hearts of those encountered throughout his career. His journey in law enforcement began in 1969 when he joined the Pryor Police Department as a dispatcher. His passion for service led him to return a few years later as a Police Officer, where he devoted himself to the safety and well-being of others. Known affectionately by his colleagues as "Bull," he was deeply involved with juvenile services and narcotics in Mayes County and spent countless hours working as a detective. For seven years, he worked as an evidence officer in Rogers County, where his commitment to justice shined brightly. Jimmy's stories from his time in law enforcement are a testament to his pride in his work, filled with experiences that brought both laughter and reflection. He derived immense joy from serving his community, always going above and beyond to ensure the safety and prosperity of others. Outside of his noble pursuits in police work, Jimmy found happiness in the simple pleasures of life—fishing, camping, and enjoying the great outdoors. He was also known for his visits to the casino, where he reveled in the thrill of chance. In this time of loss, we remember Jimmy Dale Rush with deep gratitude for his unwavering commitment to service, his kind-hearted spirit, and the cherished memories he leaves behind. His impact on the community and all who knew him will never be forgotten.
