Joe M. Otto of Pryor, Oklahoma was born on May 29, 1924 in Clyde, Texas. He passed away on December 19, 2010 in Pryor at the age of 86. The son of Allie Lee Celeste Texas (Barr) Otto, he entered the U.S. Army during WWII in the 133rd Evacuation Hospital as a surgical technician in Central Europe. After the war he was married to Wilma Jean Stayton on October 13, 1947 at Chelsea, Oklahoma. Wilma preceded him in death on Dec. 3, 1993. Mr. Otto and his family had lived in Pryor since 1960 moving here from Pampa, Texas. Joe was employed at Georgia Pacific as a boiler operator retiring in 1987. Joe later married Wanda (Holloway) Downs on July 16, 1994 in Pryor, Oklahoma. Joe loved fishing, woodworking, traveling, feeding and watching birds,but most of all watching his grandchildren play sports. He was a 32nd degree master mason, and a member of the Pryor American Legion. He was a member of the Church of Christ Faith. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 22, 2010, in the Pryor Church of Christ with Brother Don Nelson officiating. Services are under the direction of Shipman's Funeral Cremation Service of Pryor. The family will receive visitors on Tuesday evening from 6p.m. till 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Joe is survived by his wife Wanda of the home;1-daughter Pam Howard husband Rick of Pryor; 1-Son Gary Otto wife Joanna of Fayetteville, AR; Foster son; Bill Patton of Memphis, TN; 6-Grandchildren, Angela Johnny Ragsdale of Pryor,OK, Kimberly Brandon Hawkins of Locust Grove,OK, Laura Jean Otto of Fayetteville, AR, Joe Ben Otto of Fayetteville, AR, Celeste Otto of Fayetteville, AR and Kristy Patton of Broken Arrow, OK; 3-Great Grandchildren; Johnathan Ragsdale of Pryor,OK, Cole Ragsdale of Pryor,OK, Cope Hawkins of Locust Grove, OK; 2 half sisters; Sadie Phillips of San Antonio, TX and Ann Straton of Missouri. He was preceded in death by; 2-Brothers Fred Mutt Otto; 2-Sisters, Linnie Coffman Mabel Gandy; 3-half sisters, Evanell Otto, Della Mae Stubbs, Blanche Wadsworth his parents.
