John Bar

John Austin O'Bar, 69, of Pryor, Oklahoma, passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2013 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born on October 6, 1944 in Paris, Arkansas, the son of Thomas D. O'Bar and Deba (McVay) O'Bar. John married Wathenia "Tina" Faulkner on January 31, 1969 in Pryor, Oklahoma. He drove a truck for Hamill Trucking for many years. He had a near perfect driving record for over 42 years of driving, with only one parking ticket and one seat belt ticket. John was a man of few words, but was the solid rock of his family. He loved his family and loved the time he spent with them. He drove trucks nearly all his life. John grew up loving horses and rodeos. He performed in calf roping events when he was in his late teens and early twenties. John was honest to a fault, a hardworking loving man who leaves this world much better than he found it. Graveside Services will be held on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at 3 p.m., in the Old Adair Cemetery with Reverend Francis Berka officiating. He is survived by his wife, Wathenia "Tina"; his children, Brian O'Bar of Broken Arrow, OK and Karen and husband, Floyd Langley of Adair, OK; three grandchildren, Alexis Schroeder of Adair, OK, Joshua and Jacob O'Bar of Broken Arrow, OK; one step grandchild, Kaity Langley of Adair, OK; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Deba O'Bar; his brothers Mack, Leroy, Alton.
