John Key

September 28, 1943 — January 4, 2018

John David Key, 74, of Pryor, passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2018 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born on September 28, 1943 in Pryor, Oklahoma; the son of Daniel and Gertrude (Blackwell) Key. John faithfully served his country in the United States Airforce and after being honorably discharged went to work for Tally Frack as a foreman and then to Norit America as a purchasing agent. He married Jeanette Katen on May 28, 1971 and together made their life in Pryor. John loved cars; especially MG's, and looked forward to going to Cozumel with his best friend, Doc Goforth, who preceded him in death, and OU football. He was a family man, who surrounded himself by those he loved most and enjoyed time with his grandchildren. They were his life. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

A Celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 10, 2018 in the Your Place Church in Pryor with Pastor Darian Rains officiating. John is survived by his wife, Jeanette Key of the home; daughter, Anne Michelle Ledoux and husband Travis of Adair, Oklahoma; son, John David Key II of Chouteau, Oklahoma; brother, James Key and wife Sharon of Chouteau, Oklahoma; 6 grandchildren, Alisen Key, Kegan Yates, Conley Ledoux, Corey Ledoux, Elaina Key, and Alex Yates. He is preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Gertrude Key, and brother, Daniel Kenneth Key.
