John Dwayne True

John Dwayne True, of Pryor, Oklahoma, passed away on Monday, November 18, 2024, at the age of 71. 

John had a long career as a bookkeeper, working for various firms over three decades in both Nevada and Oklahoma. He was a man of great humor, with a contagious laugh that brightened any room. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and had a passion for listening to his favorite band, The Eagles. He was also fond of old tractors and farm implements and had a love for classic comics such as Garfield and The Far Side. John will be remembered for his kind heart, his unwavering love for his family, and his ability to bring joy and laughter into the lives of those around him. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his loved ones.

He is survived by his loving wife of many years, Betty True, and his daughters, Melissa (Missy) Kissel and her husband Eric, of Pryor, and Falon True and Russell Miller, of Claremore. He was a proud grandfather to Ethan Hummel, Ella Hummel, Victoria Paul, Harley Miller, Freya Miller, Andrew Kissel, and Joseph Kissel, and was a cherished great-grandfather to Elena Paul. John is also survived by his brothers, Raymond True and wife Sandy, of Pryor, Bill True and wife Linda, of Pryor, and Sonny True and wife Diane, of Indianapolis, IN; as well as his sisters, Barbara Hester and husband James, of Pryor, and Terri Wright and husband Ken, of Parsons, KS. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, R.N. and Ruth True; his sister, Betty Matthews; and his brothers, Ronnie True and Gary True.
