John Weller

September 24, 1951 — August 13, 2018

John C. Weller was born on September 24, 1951 in San Antonio, Texas and was adopted September 27, 1951 by John C. and Goldie Mae (Brawley) Weller. He departed this life August 13, 2018 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. John enlisted in the United States Army in 1974 and worked as a military policeman and served until 1975. He married the love of his life, Brenda Faye Marquez on September 7, 1997 in Waxahachie, Texas. They lived in Arkansas and North Carolina before settling down in Pryor, Oklahoma in January 2006. John was an active member of Our Oasis Baptist Church in Pryor. He loved to sing, and he and Brenda were karaoke DJ's for many years. The last year and half, he was a fishing partner with his pastor, Chris Gonthier. He was a wonderful husband and friend and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

John is survived by his wife, Brenda Weller; sons, John C. Weller III (Amy) of Kingsland, Texas, Matthew Weller (Julie) of Burnett, Texas, Paul Weller (April) of Kingsland, Texas and Robert Weller of Washington State; stepdaughter Chandra Noviskie (Mike) of Pretoria, South Africa, stepson Chris Marquez (Krystal) of Canutillo, Texas, and stepdaughter Connie Gray (Rodney) of Bellville, Texas; 2 brothers; 2 sisters; 21 grandchildren and 15 great children; and many other relatives and friends. John is preceded in death by his parents, John C. and Goldie Mae Weller; sons Patrick and Jeffrey Weller; grandson, Andrew Noviskie; granddaughter Makena Jean Marquez; and great grandson, Isaac Lopez.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 17, 2018 at Our Oasis Baptist Church with Pastor Chris Gonthier officiating. He will be laid to rest at Ft. Gibson National Cemetery.
