Johnny Morris

Johnny Lee Morris, 58, of Salina, passed away on Thursday, September 30, 2021 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born on April 23, 1963 in Claremore, Oklahoma; the son of Leslie Morris and Letha (Hair) Morris. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah. He married Mary Ellen (Lisa) Spade on June 26, 1998 in Grove, Oklahoma and they celebrated 23 years together. Johnny worked for Hem Saw for 32 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Salina, where he served as a deacon. Johnny loved music and had a heart for children. He was currently serving as a school board member for the Salina Public Schools. He was a loving husband, father, brother and friend and leaves behind many memories for his family to cherish.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 5, 2021 in the First Baptist Church of Salina, Oklahoma with Pastor Steve Waechter officiating. Burial will follow in the Ross – Mayes Cemetery with Ricky Morris, Darrell Morris, Taylor Morris, Treyton Morris, Luke Henry, and Tony Hopton serving as casket bearers. Johnny is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen (Lisa) Morris of the home; son, Jonathan Morris of Salina, Oklahoma; mother, Letha Morris of Salina, Oklahoma; brothers, Darrell Morris of Salina, Oklahoma and Ricky Morris of Salina, Oklahoma; sister, Leslie Morris of Salina, Oklahoma; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Leslie Morris; and 2 brothers, Victor and Tony Morris.
