Jonathan Pierce

Jonathan Roger Pierce, 46, of Pryor, passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2015 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born on October 30, 1968 in Tulsa, Oklahoma; the son of Allen and Judith (Elrod) Pierce. Jonathan faithfully served his county in the United States Navy from 1987 until 2002. Within the Navy, he worked as a submarine sonar tech for 13 years and as a security guard for the Navy in Germany. He was employed with a local security company in Pryor. Jonathan was awarded two National Defense Service Medals, a Navy Expeditionary Medal, two sea service deployment ribbons, two Navy "E" Ribbons, two Navy and Marine Corps Overseas service ribbons, and a Navy Arctic Service Ribbon. He returned from the Navy to the Pryor area in 2002 and looked forward to spending time with his family. He dearly loved the time he spent with his mother Judith, his daughter, Gabrielle, brother Chris and sister in law, Amber and nephew Jack. He enjoyed working with computers and was extremely knowledgeable of electronics. He leaves behind many wonderful memories and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Graveside services will be held on Friday, July 17, 2015 at 11:00 a.m., in the Fort Gibson National Cemetery in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma with Navy Honors given. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, July 16, 2015 in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel. Jonathan is survived by his daughter, Gabrielle Pierce of Tulsa, Oklahoma; mother, Judith Holt of Pryor, Oklahoma; brother, Christopher and wife Amber Pierce of Catonsville, Maryland, nephew, Jack Pierce of Catonsville, Maryland; special friend, Larry Stumpff; many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Allen Pierce and grandparents.
