Joseph Mose Kingfisher, 72, passed away on Friday, January 3, 2014 in Pryor, Oklahoma. He was born on December 23, 1941 in Salina; the son of Pete Kingfisher and Lucy Hair Studie. Joe married Fannie Chuckluck in Stillwell on August 7, 1974. In his younger years, he enjoyed coaching boy's softball teams. He also enjoyed watching sports of all kinds, especially OU football. Joe loved to make Indian silver and turquoise jewelry. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, and going fishing. He also loved to play the card game phase ten. Joe enjoyed spending time with those he loved most; each and every child and grandchild held a special place in his heart. He would love to sit and listen to all Marci's school stories throughout his day. Joe will be remembered for all the wonderful memories he leaves behind and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 7, 2014 in the Blue Springs Church with Reverend Richard Pickup and Reverend Mike Kingfisher officiating. Interment will be in the Grass Cemetery with Bradley Montoya, Cherokee Anderson, Tat Ross, Tuffy Kingfisher, Onie Pickup, and Chris Pickup serving as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers will be Stan Ross, Buddy Ross, Champ Pickup, Christopher Pickup, Bobby Foreman, Jace Encinas, Nic McClain, and Grayson Sawyer. He is survived by his daughter, Tina & husband Chris Montoya of Pryor, Oklahoma; 4 brothers, Robert and wife Sarah Studie of Jay, Oklahoma, Henry Kingfisher of Salina, Oklahoma, Dennis and wife Jackie Kingfisher of Little Kansas, Oklahoma, and Tuffy and wife Mary Kingfisher of Eufaula, Oklahoma; 6 sisters, Marilyn Payton of Jay, Oklahoma, Wilma and husband Gene Dry of Jay, Oklahoma, Donna and husband Johnnie Sapp of Salina, Oklahoma, Roberta Henson of Salina, Oklahoma, Peggy Payne of Salina, Oklahoma and Freda and husband Marvin Payne of Salina, Oklahoma; 6 grandchildren, Crystal Montoya, Bradley Montoya, Tishena Montoya, Marcella Montoya, Chris Pickup, and Melody Pickup; 1 great grandchild, Duane Pickup; many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife, Fannie Kingfisher; 1 son, Duane Pickup; 3 daughters, Baby girl Kingfisher, Sonja Kingfisher, and Susan Kingfisher; his father, Pete Kingfisher and mother Lucy Studie; and 3 brothers, Ryder Studie, Larry Kingfisher, and Gary Kingfisher.
