Joyce Jean Wallace, 76, of Pryor, passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on April 18, 1946 in Arkansas City, Kansas; the daughter of Don and Doris (Herr) Heathman. She married Carl Wallace on October 30, 1978 in Miami, Oklahoma and have celebrated almost 44 years of marriage. She worked for many years as a social worker for Mayes and Rogers counties and retired as supervisor of the Mayes County Department of Juvenile Affairs. Joyce loved to go shopping, especially going to auctions and estate sales. She enjoyed tending to her flower garden and going to eat at Olive Garden. Joyce had a special place in her heart for her grandchildren and great grandchildren and looked forward to each moment she had to spend with them. She leaves behind many wonderful memories and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 22, 2022 in the Shipman’s Funeral Home Chapel in Pryor. Burial will follow in the Graham Memorial Cemetery with Dalton Trout, Shaun Trout, David Wallace, Justin Wallace, Brian Edwards, and Luke Wagler serving as casket bearers. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, October 21, 2022 at Shipman’s Funeral Home. Joyce is survived by her husband, Carl Wallace of the home; sons, Steve Trout and wife Claudia of Pryor, Oklahoma and Tim Wallace and wife Chris of Claremore, Oklahoma; daughter, Missy Wallace and husband Scott of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; sister, Pat Richardson and husband Larry of Booneville, Arkansas; 11 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Don and Doris Heathman; brother, Don Heathman, Jr., and daughter, Deanna Trout.
