Juanita "June" Christy, 93, of Chouteau, passed away on Friday, January 30, 2015 in Chouteau, Oklahoma. She was born on June 19, 1921 in Caney, Kansas; the daughter of Arthur and Pearl Hazel (Jones) Thompson. June has lived in Chouteau since 1969, coming from Kansas City, Missouri. She was very active in the Chouteau Senior Citizens Center, and enjoyed playing bingo. June married Jack Christy in 1941 in Nevada, Missouri. During World War II, while Jack was overseas, working as a combat engineer, she lived in Kansas City and worked at McDonald Douglas and built B25 Bombers. She also drove airport Limousines. June was one of the sweetest ladies anyone could ever hope to know. She looked forward to spending time with her family and enjoyed each moment she had to spend with them. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 3, 2015 in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Danny Lynchard officiating. Burial will follow in the Chouteau North Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, February 2, 2015 in the Shipman's Funeral Home in Chouteau. June is survived by her son, David and wife Tiane Christy of Claremore, Oklahoma; granddaughter, Kayla Christy of Claremore, Oklahoma; grandson, Mark Alan Christy of Austin, Texas; great grandson, Vincent and Brenna Christy. She is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Pearl Thompson, her husband, Jack Christy, 1 son, Mark Christy, and brother, Theon Thompson.
