Justin Douglas Wayne Simpson, 38, of Salina, Oklahoma passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2022 in Salina, Oklahoma.  “Hin’no’noo-tei” meaning Strong Spiritual Powerful Man was his Arapaho name.  Justin was born on March 13, 1984 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma; the son of Douglas Wayne Simpson and Karen Lee (Washee) Simpson.  He worked as a general contractor in construction most of his life.  He was a fancy dancer in pow-wows in his younger years and was very talented in his dances.  Justin graduated from Salina High School in 2002.  He was an excellent all-around athlete in many sports.  He especially enjoyed going to the creek swimming with Dakota and kids.  He enjoyed looking for morel mushrooms.  Justin loved the outdoors, driving the backroads, fishing and being with his friends. Above all, he loved his children and looked forward to any time he had to spend with them. He loved them unconditionally and without fail.  Justin was so very loved by all who knew him and will be remembered in all their fond memories of times spent together. 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 1, 2022 at Blue Springs Church in Salina. Honorary casket bearers will be Chris White, Sonny Johnson, Bryan Johnson, Bobby Benge, Brandon Wolfe, Chris Keith, Tim Washee, and Wesley Harp. Visitation and Wake services will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Sunday, July 31, 2022 at Shipman’s Funeral Home in Pryor. Justin is survived by his parents, Doug and Karen Simpson of Salina, Oklahoma; fiancé, Dakota Hart of the home; son, Deegan Simpson of Jay, Oklahoma; daughters, Makenzey Simpson and Dylan Simpson of Jay, Oklahoma; step sons, Isaac and Isidro Chavoya of Pryor, Oklahoma; brother, Bill Bailey of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; sister, Gloria Ward and husband Matthew of Salina, Oklahoma; grandmother, Gloria Matthews of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; aunts and uncles, Bernie and Laura Washee of Pryor, Oklahoma, Ray and Deanie Washee – Long of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Arlene and Steve of Westville, Oklahoma, Pattie and Vinnie Granahan of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Pam Goodman of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Charlie Goodman of Joppa, Maryland;  and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Rayburne Washee and Margaret and James Simpson.
