Karen Sue Brashar, 75, of Chouteau, passed away on Monday, March 2, 2020 in Pryor. She was born on April 27, 1944 in Tulsa, Oklahoma; the daughter of Elizabeth (Spriggs) Hester. She married Clyde Lee Brashar on June 13, 1959 in Pryor, Oklahoma and they have celebrated 60 years of marriage. Karen has lived in the Mayes County area for 50 years. She loved going to the senior citizens center in Chouteau each day, where she served as President. Karen enjoyed doing crafts and playing games. She enjoyed going to flea markets and tending to her own booth. Karen and Clyde enjoyed going to eat and shopping together. She enjoyed working in her yard, planting flowers, and keeping it looking nice was important to her. It was also very important to Karen to cook for her family and she enjoyed spending time with them over a homecooked meal. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 7, 2020 in the Chouteau West Cemetery with Mersadies Brashar, Cory Brashar, Lance Peters, Ryan Floyd, Kyle Brashar, and Dustin Rowbotham serving as honorary casket bearers. Karen is survived by her husband, Clyde Brashar of the home; Terry Brashar and husband Harold Gideon of the home; daughters, Patricia Rowbotham and husband Danny of Coweta, Oklahoma and Theresa Floyd and husband Jerry of Chelsea; 9 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth Hester, grandfather, Carl Spriggs, Grandmother, Eva Spriggs, and granddaughter, Keli Dawn Tomlinson.
