Karen Kay Littledave, 62, of Salina, Oklahoma, passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2023, at her home. She was born on June 16, 1961, in Claremore, Oklahoma to Kenneth and Lucille (Ross) Littledave. Karen was known for her kind and welcoming personality, and she touched the lives of many through her career and personal life.
Karen began her career at the Cherokee Nation Early Childhood Unit in 1990. She dedicated over three decades of her life before retiring on January 1, 2023. Karen enjoyed various hobbies and interests. She cherished moments spent fishing with James and was a skilled cook. She also enjoyed watching wrestling. Among Karen's most treasured memories were those of Fourth of July celebrations and fireworks. She found happiness in spending time at the creek. These simple yet meaningful experiences brought out the childlike wonder within her and left lasting impressions on those who were fortunate enough to share them with her. Karen graduated from Salina High School in 1979 and later pursued studies in Culinary Arts at Talking Leaves Job Corps. She was a member of the Ballou Baptist Church in Locust Grove and enjoyed attending services and church activities.
Karen will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and dedication that will forever resonate within the hearts of those she touched. Her passing is mourned by many close family members and friends who were privileged to have shared their lives with her.
Karen is survived by her life partner James Kelough, of the home; daughters, Paula Sequichie of Broken Arrow, OK, Debra Littledave and Andres Vazquez of Pryor, OK; and Bea Briana Littledave of Salina, OK. She also leaves behind seven beloved grandchildren: Braylea, Jaycie, Kayda, Chayde, Taelin, Kieran, and Sylah; and great-grandchild Melody Estelle.
She is also survived by her sisters Janet Littledave of Salina, OK, Gail Lynn Littledave of Chouteau, OK, and Kathy Littledave of Pryor, OK; brother, Alec Littledave and her favorite sister-in-law Oostee of Pryor, OK; and her friend and best coworker, Jess Payne; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
