Karen Monk

Karen Sue Monk the daughter of Gary E. Doris Evelyn (Cunningham) Hanna was born on October 22, 1967 in Pueblo, CO. She passed away on September 12, 2010 in Pryor, Ok at the age of 42. Karen moved to Salina, in 1985 from New Mexico, and was married to Mr. Curtis Leroy Monk on September 1, 1990 in Salina, OK. Karen loved her family and enjoyed watching and helping them with their FFA 4-H projects and she really enjoyed fishing. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday in the First Baptist Church of Salina, Ok. Reverend Johnnie Faught will officiate and burial will follow in the Ross-Mayes Cemetery in Salina with services under the direction of the Shipman's Funeral Cremation Service of Pryor. The family will greet visitors on Wednesday evening from 6 p.m. till 8 p.m. at the Shipman Chapel in Pryor. Karen is survived by 3-Sons; Curtis Leroy Monk Jr., Dustin Blake Monk, Brandon Eugene Monk all of the home her father Gary Hanna of Salina, OK, 3-Brothers; Gary Wayne Hanna of Sand Springs, OK, Don Hanna of Locust Grove, OK, Scott Teresa Hanna of Salina, Ok. Her Brother-In-Law Carlos Monk wife Gayla of Locust Grove, OK. And a host of other relatives and many friends. Karen was preceded in death by the love of her life Curtis Leroy Monk SR on March 8, 2008, and her mother Doris Evelyn Hannah on Sept. 16, 2005.
