Kenneth Anderson

August 29, 1939 — July 14, 2018

Kenneth Dean Anderson, 78, of Salina, passed away on Saturday, July 14, 2018 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. He was born on August 29, 1939 in Lebanon, Missouri; the son of Stanley and Marie (Elam) Anderson. He faithfully served his country in the United States Army from 1959 until 1962. After being honorably discharged, he married Mary Belle Phelan. Dean worked most of his life as a carpenter for Carpenters Local Union #943. He enjoyed his profession and was proud to say he built his own home. Dean enjoyed fishing and watching sports of any kind on television and westerns. He also like to play pitch and in his younger years, loved to skate and was a member of a bowling league. Dean raised pigs and calves. Dean was very popular at Christmas well known for his peanut patties and chocolate fudge. He looked forward to spending time with his grandchildren and cherished each moment he had to spend with them. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, July 20, 2018 in the Blue Springs Church in Salina with Reverend Lorne Beck. Dean is survived by his wife, Mary Belle Anderson of Salina, Oklahoma; daughter, Tammy Dewey and husband Wesley of Salina, Oklahoma; brothers, Gary Anderson and Sandy of Miami, Oklahoma and Darrell Anderson of Pryor, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Meagan Dewey and Matt Geisler of Salina, Oklahoma and Terrence Dewey and Chelsea Johnson of Salina, Oklahoma; 1 great grandchild on the way, Emerie Geisler; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Marie Anderson; and sister, Jewel Haye.
