Kenneth Smith

Kenneth James Smith, 72, of Salina, passed away on Monday, February 10, 2014 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born on March 3, 1941 in Claremore, Oklahoma; the son of Jess and Susie Smith. Kenneth was an avid Mayes County Sports Fan, especially when the Salina Wildcats were playing. He also enjoyed going to the Salina Highbanks Speedway to watch the races. Kenneth was a member of the Standing Rock Baptist Church and would attend all the church functions. He was very outgoing and made friends with everyone. Kenneth loved his family and enjoyed spending time with those who meant the most to him. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 13, 2014 in the Standing Rock Baptist Church in Salina, Oklahoma with Reverend Jess Williams and Buddy Ross officiating. Steven Kingfisher, Michael Williams, Gerald Lacy, Buddy Ross, Jess Youngbird, and Johnny Kingfisher will be serving as casket bearers. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, February 12, 2014 in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel. Kenneth is survived by his daughters, Jenny Mouse of Salina, Oklahoma, Jade Hansen of Jay, Oklahoma and Lani Hansen of Jay, Oklahoma; his niece, Marilyn and husband Rob Williams of Salina, Oklahoma; and his nephew, Alvin Smith of Salina, Oklahoma. He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters and 2 brothers.
