Kenneth Stelzer

Kenneth was born on October 8, 1931 on the farm 12 miles northwest of Guymon, Oklahoma to Bert and Lily Stelzer. He was the youngest of four children. He was baptized on October 21, 1931 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Guymon, Oklahoma. He was confirmed on September 9, 1945 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Guymon, Oklahoma. Kenneth passed away and went to his Father in Heaven on April 25, 2015 in Claremore, OK at the age of 83. Kenneth attended the first eight years of school in a one room school, Eula, one mile north of his home. He finished high school in Guymon, Oklahoma and attended Panhandle State College. Kenneth and Betty Garrison were married December 17, 1950 in Trinity Lutheran Church in Guymon. Six children were born to their marriage. Kenneth was a lifelong farmer and rancher. He was also active in his church, St. John Lutheran, taking part in teaching and serving in many capacities over his 35 years as a member. Funeral Services will be held for Kenneth on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at 11 a.m. in the St. John Lutheran Church. Interment will be in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Guymon, Oklahoma later this week. He is survived by his wife, Betty and four sons; Kenneth Lain and wife, Vicki of Guymon, OK, Carroll Gene and wife, Connie of Guymon, OK, Donald Lain and wife, Jana of Senegal, Africa and Ronald Wayne Stelzer of Winston Salem, NC; 16 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild and a host of relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lily and Bert Stelzer; two daughters, Ruth Ann and Karen; one brother, Melvin and two sisters, Gladys and Norlene.
