Kenneth Whiteday

Kenneth "Kenny" Lee Whiteday, 55, of Kenwood, passed away on January 11, 2014 in Kenwood, Oklahoma. He was born on June 30, 1958 at Moot's Hospital in Pryor; the son of Warren (Bear) and Bernice (Land) Whiteday. Kenny previously worked for Braden Steel, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, as a journeyman for over 20 years. He was a member of the International Association of Bridge, Structural, Reinforcing and Ornamental Iron Workers Union, Local 584. Kenny was retired and enjoyed several hobbies. He liked fishing, hunting, electronics, and had built several radios for communication and entertainment. He was also a life member of the NRA. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 15, 2014 in the Ross - Mayes Cemetery with Reverend Lorne Beck officiating. Honorary casket bearers will be Kevin Pilant, Derwin Daniels, Steven Sudduth, Barney (Tuffy) Benham, Marcus Littlefield, Ronnie Eaton, Billy Gilstrap, and Steve Crawford. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 14, 2014 in the Shipman Funeral Home Chapel. Kenny is survived by his mother, Bernice Whiteday of Kenwood; 2 brothers, Warren "Buz" Whiteday of Salina, Oklahoma and Jerry "Jake" Whiteday of Salina, Oklahoma; 2 sisters, Carol Cooper of Salina, Oklahoma and Debby and husband Bobby of Stigler, Oklahoma; numerous nieces, grandnieces, nephews and grandnephews; many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents, Claude and Ellen Land and Charles Bear and Mariah Whiteday; his father, Warren (Bear) Whiteday; and his sister, Saundra (Sondy), all of whom were from Salina, Oklahoma.
