Kenneth "YoYo" Collins

Kenneth Wayne “YoYo” Collins was born on January 11, 1954 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas to Darwin and Faye Collins. He passed away on October 16, 2023 in Salina, Oklahoma at the age of 69. He attended his elementary, Jr High, and High school at Salina, OK. He attended Jr. College at Miami, OK where he graduated with his associates degree. He then went on to Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, OK where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education with a minor in Music. On May 14,1977 while on a camping trip with friends he dove into the Illinois River where he broke his neck at the 5th and 6th cervical vertebrae completely severing his spinal cord leaving him a quadriplegic.  On May 14 1980 he married Sandi Coger and they served as Evangelist for 35 years. Sharing all over the United States in over 200 functions in churches and school conferences and conventions. YoYo loved to drive and wore out 5 vans in those years. He even drove to Alaska in 1989. YoYo and Sandi retired from full ministry in 2015 due to YoYo not being able to get enough air to sing. YoYo was a student of music, athletics and the outdoors. He never met a person he didn’t like; He loved everyone and never met a stranger.

YoYo is survived by his wife Sandi of 43 years, one daughter Rhonda Salyers and husband Lonnie, one son Rodney Coger and wife Stacey all of Salina, OK. Three grandsons: Lonnie Dale Salyers and wife Heather, Brady Salyers and wife Angie, and Jerod Salyers all of Salina, OK. Four granddaughters: Laura Stevens and husband Kyle, Hunter Coger of Tahlequah, OK, Jaycee Coger and Dallas Coger all of Salina, OK. One brother Bennie Collins and wife DeeAnn of Salina, OK and a very special friend, who was like a son to him, Kenny Gilliland of Salina, OK. He was preceded in death by his parents Darwin and Faye Collins, and his sister Tina Whipkey all of Salina.
