Kevin Donohue

Kevin Thomas Donohue, 53, of Wagoner, passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2015 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born on June 1, 1962 in Pryor, Oklahoma in the Moots Hospital; the son of Thomas R. and Frances Donohue. Kevin lived from birth to 2014 in his birthplace home near Hudson Lake on Waterline Road. He has lived in Wagoner for the last 3 months and was a member of the Twin Oaks Baptist Church in Wagoner. Kevin retired from GRDA; working 30 years as the Senior Plant Control Room Operator. He married Cheri Skinner on April 2, 2005 in Claremore, Oklahoma. Kevin enjoyed watching football; especially when OU was playing and riding around in his OU golf cart around his home. He was a self - proclaimed "Garage Sale Junky," looking forward to garage sales and going to flea markets when he could. Kevin cherished the time he had with his family and enjoyed when he was able to grill and cookout with them. He loved the outdoors and going fishing and camping. Most of all, Kevin loved spending time with his grandchildren and playing with them anytime he could. He leaves behind many memories and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 23, 2015 in the Twin Oaks Church with Reverend Wesley Graves officiating. Interment will follow in the Spavinaw - Strang Cemetery with Kevin Dollison, Jay McArty, Crad James, Troy Goforth, Steve Woods, and John Crogan serving as casket bearers. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 22, 2015, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel in Pryor. Kevin is survived by his wife, Cheri Donohue of the home; step son, Aaron Waldrup of Verdigris; daughter, Amber Akerman and husband Nicholas of Verdigris and stepdaughter, Courtney Waldrup of Tulsa; and 2 grandchildren, Anthony Thompson and Andrew Akerman; many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Frances Donohue and son, Jonathan Donohue.
