He also worked for Asplundh as a tree trimmer.
Lacey Dean had a great sense of humor, being silly or serious you were guaranteed to laugh. He was always willing to help. He might’ve been the slim build, but he was stout. From a young boy on, he was athletic and bright. He was into horseshoes; some would say as good as Leroy Smoke. He loved to play chess against his brothers and sister, or anybody for that matter. He loved to be on the court playing basketball with his Family and friends (if you were a friend, you were family). If he was near the water, he’d be fishing, swimming, gigging, or catching crawdads. Everyone knew how much Lacey loved his family. He never met a stranger and made friends wherever he went. He was probably the most adventurous and fearless out of seven children. He traveled to Colorado to Kansas to Missouri to Louisiana, but he’d find his way home being homesick. He may have gone away, but he wasn’t going to stay away from family. He was a beautiful soul you were privileged to know. To the family, thanks for accepting him and loving him. There may be hard times you’ll go through, but remember Lacey always wanted the best for you.
