Lee Roy Smoke, 71, of Strang, passed away on Tuesday December 25, 2018 in Fort Worth, Texas. He was born on April 11, 1947 in Spavinaw, Oklahoma; the son of Newt Smoke and Maggie (Ketcher) Smoke. He worked in Sanitation for many years for the City of Tulsa. Lee Roy loved to play horseshoes, play bingo, softball, and swim at Strang Park or Spavinaw Park. He also enjoyed working on cars, lawn mowers, and tinkering with other things. He leaves behind many memories and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 3, 2018 in the Jack Ribbon Cemetery in Spavinaw, Oklahoma with Reverend Joe West officiating. Casket Bearers will Kevin Smoke, Harley Tillerson, Phillip Harrington, Clint Smoke, and Jarrod Blackfox. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 2, 2019 in the Shipman’s Funeral Home Chapel. Lee Roy is survived by his brother, Ronnie Smoke of Strang, Oklahoma; sisters, Betty Lou Smoke of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Newt and Maggie Smoke; 2 brothers, Henry Smoke and Luke Smoke; and sister, Sylvia Leach.
