Leo Estes

Leo Calvin "Poss" Estes, 81, passed away on January 22, 2018 at Claremore Veterans Center. He was born May 28, 1936 in Locust Grove, Okla., the son of Sherman Wesley and Oweta (Southard) Estes. Leo provided a home for his father and mother near Locust Grove and he is now in heaven with his loved ones. He served in the U.S. Army from December 4, 1958 to November 22, 1960. Leo was an honest man. Leo worked most of his life building trailers at a plant in Tulsa. A special thanks to Shady Rest Care Center, Pryor; Claremore Veterans Center; and Transitions Life Care, Claremore; for their assistance with Leo.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 27, 2018 in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held one hour before the service. Burial will follow in the Graham Memorial Cemetery with Wesley Dale Estes, James Estes, Donald Estes, Jordan Estes, James "Bubba" Estes and Jesse Carney serving as casket bearers. Leo is survived by his sister, Margrete Dean Estes Thomasson of Springdale, Ark., Sister-in-laws Mary Lou Estes, Locust Grove, Okla., and Jean Estes, Poteau, Okla. and numerous nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sisters Lucille Lois Littlefield, Louise Henderson and Leota "Sugar Boule" Easley, Brothers Wesley Sherman Estes, James Kenneth Estes, John Wesley Estes, Glen Dale Estes and Cecil Lewis Estes.
