Leonard Barrett

Leonard Barrett, 70, of Chouteau, Oklahoma, passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at his home. He was born on December 24, 1944 in Claremore, Oklahoma, the son of Beulah Wilson. Leonard faithfully served his Country in the United States Army. He married Gloria Pifer on June 1st 1973 at wagoner ok. Leonard worked as an aircraft mechanic for McDonnell Douglas for many years. He had lived in Chouteau for 67 years. Leonard was a 32nd Degree Master Mason and a member of the Covey Lodge #460 in Locust Grove, also holding membership in the Scottish Rice in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was a member of the DAV Chapter 43. He enjoyed spending time drinking coffee and visiting with friends. He also enjoyed doing mechanic work. Leonard enjoyed baseball, especially watching the New York Yankees. He enjoyed spending time his his dogs Patches and Marley. But of all the things of life, he loved his family and the time he was able to spend with them especially his son Shaun and grandson Benjy. A wonderful husband, father and papa who leaves many wonderful memories for each to cherish. Graveside Services will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at 2 p.m. in the Adair Cemetery at Adair, Oklahoma with Reverend Ronnie Gaines officiating. Honorary casket bearers are Homer Croft, Sid Leach, Leroy Chupp, John Mangrum and John Cunningham. Military Honors given by the Army Honor Team. He is survived by his wife, Gloria of the home; his son, Shaun and wife, Kari Barrett of Adair, OK; grandson, Benjymin Barrett of Adair, OK; brothers, Leroy Barrett and wife, Gwen of Pryor, OK and Bill Barrett and wife, Sue of Plano, TX; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother and 3 sisters.
