Leonard Holbert

Leonard Doyle Holbert, 81, of Pryor, Oklahoma, passed away on Friday, August 12, 2011 in Pryor. He was born on December 6, 1929 in Arkansas, the son of Morgan Allen Holbert and Dora (Watley) Holbert. Leonard married Charleen Anderson on December 18, 1948 at Van Buren, Arkansas. He worked for the Locust Grove Public Schools in the Maintenance Department. Leonard loved the outdoors, especially going camping in the mountains and fishing. He enjoyed Blue Grass and Country music. Leonard loved his family and will be dearly remembered in all the wonderful memories he leaves each of them. Funeral Services for Leonard will be held on Monday, August 15, 2011 at 10 a.m. in the Shipman's Funeral Chapel with Reverend Junior Mullen officiating. Interment will follow in the Graham Memorial Cemetery in Pryor. Visitation will be from 1-5 p.m. on Sunday afternoon at the funeral home. Leonard is survived by his wife, Charleen of the home; his son, Michael and wife, Sandy Holbert of Pryor, OK; his daughter, Myrna and husband, Don King of Sand Springs, OK; grandchildren, Milissa, Sherie, Jonathan and Steven; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Morgan and Dora Holbert; 2 sisters, Marie Dean and Virgie Tollison; 4 brothers, Troy, Roy, Melvin and Earl Holbert.
