Gene Honeycutt, 77, of Chouteau, Oklahoma, passed away on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 in Claremore, Oklahoma. He was born on January 6, 1934 in Inola, Oklahoma, the son of Willis Herman Honeycutt and Grace Pearl (Biby) Honeycutt. Gene faithfully served his Country in the United States Army. He married Helen Bracken in June of 1957. She preceded him in death on February 20, 2006. He was a welder by trade working for Braden Manufacturing. Gene loved being outdoors, hunting and fishing. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and family. He will be so very missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral Services for Gene will be held on Monday, February 21, 2011 at 10 a.m. in the Shipman Funeral Chapel with Reverend Don Bendure officiating. Interment will be in the Chouteau West Cemetery in Chouteau, Oklahoma with Ronnie Fisher, Leonard Honeycutt, John Honeycutt, Alvin Honeycutt, Mike Edmonds and Toby Honeycutt serving as casketbearers. The family will receive friends and family at the funeral home from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday afternoon. Gene is survived by his sons, Ronnie and wife, Purcella Fisher of Langley, OK, Leonard Honeycutt of Chouteau, OK, Alvin and wife, Karen Honeycutt of Pryor, OK and John and wife, Amy Honeycutt of Chouteau, OK; his daughter, Debbie and husband, Mike Edmonds of Chouteau, OK; his brothers, Edsel Honeycutt of Oregon, Ivan Honeycutt of Chelsea, Rolland Honeycutt of Foyil, OK and W.H. (Junior) Honeycutt of Foyil, OK; his sisters, Alene Binam of Inola, OK, Ola Osborn of Inola, OK, Deloris Dunham, of MO, Ellen Wilson of Broken Arrow, OK and Bessie Harris of CA; grandchildren, Ronnie Fisher Jr., Gene Fisher, Shanna Williams, Whitney Honeycutt, Clarissa Honeycutt, Toby Honeycutt, Nicki Vanderford, Meagan Vandecar, Cindy Sutton and Brent Blevins; great grandchildren, Cody, Skylar, Bryce, Caleb, Christina, Christy, McKayla, Alyssa, Andrea, Sarah, Joe and Rebecca; great great grandchildren, Tristan, Alexis and Jaiden; many other friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen; two brothers, Joe and J.D. Honeycutt; two sisters, Helen White and Ruby McDaris; and his parents.
