Leroy Hair

Leroy Hair, 67, of Jay, passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 in Jay, Oklahoma. He was born on August 18, 1954 in Claremore, the son of Dave and Mary Jane (Davis) Hair. He married Luella Grammer on July 24, 1976 in Spavinaw, Oklahoma and have celebrated 45 years of marriage. Leroy worked most of his life for Simmons Chicken Plant as a supervisor and retired from there after 30 years. He also spent time working for the Jay Elementary School as a custodian. He loved sports, especially when it came to watching OU. He enjoyed basketball and watching wrestling. He spent his younger years playing softball for the All-Native Americans softball team who he won numerous tournaments with. He had a mean curve ball no one wanted to bat against. Leroy also enjoyed a good Andy Griffith show. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend and leaves behind many memories for his family to cherish.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 21, 2022 in the Ribbon Baptist Church in Spavinaw with Reverend Stanley Grass officiating. Burial will follow in the Jack Ribbon Cemetery with Richard Long, Jacob Bearpaw, Drayton Mathia, Johnny Jumper, Josh Jumper, and Isaac Jumper serving as casket bearers. He is survived by his wife, Luella Hair of the home; son, Jobert Hair and wife Danielle of Spavinaw; daughters, Jane Mathia and husband Ronnie of Grove, and Jordan Hair of Jay; brothers, James Hair of Verdigris, and Leland Hair of Houston, Texas; sister, Evelyn Jumper and husband Johnny of Spavinaw; 6 grandchildren, Drayton and Weston Mathia, Blayne Tran, and Isaac, Kaden, and Kallie Hair; and family friend, Michelle Daughtery. He is preceded in death by his parents, Dave and Mary Jane.
