Leta Mae Barr

Leta Mae Barr, 92, of Pryor, went to her heavenly home on Sunday, October 25, 2020. She was born on May 24, 1928 in Aledo, Oklahoma; the daughter of Leslie and Myrtle (Addington) Taylor. Leta Mae grew up in Leedey, Oklahoma and graduated from the Leedey Class of 1945. In 1958, she moved to Pryor and met Clarence, the love of her life, and they married on September 28, 1965. Leta Mae and Clarence spent 25 wonderful years together before his passing in 1990. Leta Mae worked at American National Bank as a bookkeeper for many years. In 1974, Leta Mae and Clarence opened the first storage facility in Pryor, T & L Storage. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren meant the world to her and spending time with them made her the happiest. She loved to travel and go on the senior bus trips with the First Church of God. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who leaves behind many wonderful memories for her family to cherish.

Funeral services for Leta Mae will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 28, 2020 in Shipman’s Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Marc Tincher officiating. Burial will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Centerpoint Cemetery in Aledo, Oklahoma. Leta Mae is survived by her daughter, Terri Lynn O’Steen and husband Bryan; grandchildren, Mallory O’Steen, Erin Brashears and husband Kenneth, Rylie Mae Brashears, Oklynn Brashears, Trustin Brashears, Rhonda Barnett, Heather Parker and husband Eric, and Ted Davis; and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Leslie and Myrtle; husband, Clarence; brother, Doyle Taylor; and step-daughter, Beverly Davis.
