Letha

November 25, 1931 — July 28, 2014

Letha Helems was born on November 25, 1934 to Delphia Sarah Forbes Frank and Raymond Victor Frank in Moundridge, Kansas. She attended grade school in Chase, Kansas and High School in Ellinwood, Kansas. Letha was married to J.E. "Eddie" Helems on March 24, 1972; she was very proud of their combined family. Letha was an accomplished seamstress, and made clothes for the 4 younger girls throughout their school years, including formals and a wedding dress. Letha loved redecorating the house and keeping it inviting for any family occasion or many holidays held there. She absolutely loved to cook and loved to see people enjoying her food. She especially enjoyed making pies for Eddie. During basket dinner at church people enjoyed sampling her creations. She was famous for her fried pies, and you had to get in line early to be able to enjoy one. Letha worked outside the home as a hairdresser, and later as the instructor of the Pryor Beauty College. She is preceded in death by her Mother and Father, her sister, Wilma Scheufler, and Wilma's husband, Derral, and Wilma's son, Wayne Keith; and her Brothers: Loren "Bud" Frank, and Carroll Frank and his wife, Judy. Letha is survived by her husband Eddie of the home, sons: Lyle Scheufler and wife Debbie of Overland Park, KS - children Lauren & Douglas.
