Leva Moffett

Leva Mae Moffett, 92, of Pryor, Oklahoma, went to be with Jesus on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 in Pryor. She was born on March 8, 1919 in Welch, Oklahoma, the daughter of Lawrence and Minta Zo (Highsmith) Parkhurst. She married Marvin Olif Moffett on December 24, 1936 in Miami, Oklahoma. They had made their home in Mayes County since 1954. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pryor. Leva Mae enjoyed life, especially being outdoors, camping and fishing with her family and friends. She was a gardener, canning what she grew for her family. Each Spring she enjoyed outings with family picking wild onions and cleaning them with her husband Marvin. She was very artistic, enjoying sewing, crocheting and pottery. After Marvin retired they traveled and spent time camping with family and friends. Leva Mae dearly loved her Lord and her family and will be remembered in all the wonderful memories she leaves. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at 10 a.m. in the Shipman's Funeral Chapel with Reverend David Downing officiating. Interment will be in the Graham Memorial Cemetery with Jerrad Dill, Kaleb Motter, Tyler Ragsdale, Audie Motter, Butch Nichols and Bill Dill serving as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearer is Lee Kiesel. The family will receive friends and family at the funeral home from 5-7 p.m. on Friday evening. She is survived by her son, Dwayne and wife, Pat Moffett of Pryor, OK; her sisters, Eddie Fritz of Vinita, OK, Betty Preston of Eldorado Springs, MO and Dona Coats of Vinita, OK; six grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren and seventeen great great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by husband, Marvin Moffett; her parents, Lawrence and Minta Parkhurst; her daughters, Erma Zoann Motter and Katie Jolene Head; her brother, Bill Parkhurst and her step mother, Mary Jane (Parker) Parkhurst.
