Linda (Chicken) Jumper

Linda Kay (Chicken) Jumper, 62, of Kenwood, passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at her home. She was born on July 20, 1957 in Claremore, Oklahoma; the daughter of Luke Smoke and Cora Chicken Thompson. She worked at the VFW during elections, helping with ballots and also as a homemaker most of her life. Linda married David Jumper on May 12, 1981, they enjoyed spending each moment they could together. She also enjoyed making Indian artwork, beadwork and dream catchers. Linda looked forward to picking wild onions, sewing quilts and blankets, working crossword puzzles and putting together puzzles. Most of all, Linda loved being a grandma and looked forward to spending time with her grandchildren. She leaves behind many wonderful memories and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 17, 2019 in the Holy Mountain Church in Kenwood with Pastor Sue Bendabout officiating. Burial will follow in the Euwasha Cemetery with Jerrod Littledave, Larry Fisher, Donovan Jumper, Dennis Hanson, Dyson Hanson, and Erik Bird serving as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers will be Eddie Fisher, Lahwan Blossom, Nolan McCarter and Roger Jumper. A wake service and visitation will be held at Linda’s residence at 10230 Kenwood Road Salina, Oklahoma 74365 starting at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday October 16, 2019. Linda is survived by her son, David Jumper and Julia Dry of Spavinaw, Oklahoma; daughters, Dianna Jumper of Kenwood, Oklahoma and Melissa Jumper of Kenwood, Oklahoma; 3 brothers, Bryant Chicken of Locust Grove, Oklahoma, Lewis Thompson of Kenwood, Oklahoma and Luke Smoke, Jr. of Wagoner, Oklahoma; sister, Angela Thompson of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; 14 grandchildren, Devin Jumper, Racheal Jumper, Jaela Deere, Maleah Deere, Lydia Deere, Lance Deere, Kristali Jumper, Jayne Jumper, Dusti Hanson, Dyson Hanson, Denissa Hanson, Draydon Hanson, Jaidyn Hawley, and Makiyah Jumper; 2 great grandchildren, Jaidalynn Kingfisher and Zaicyn Kingfisher; and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Luke Smoke and Cora Chicken Thompson, husband, David Jumper, and daughter, Lydia Jumper.
