Linda Nell (Brewer) Chuckluck, of Salina, Oklahoma went to be with her Lord on Sunday, November 28, 2010 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Linda was born on April 27, 1942 at W.W. Hastings Hospital in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, the daughter of Ernest Leo Brewer and Betty Blackbear. She attended school in Little Kansas, Chilocco Indian School and graduated from Salina High School in 1960. In June of 1960, she married Bridge Chuckluck, Jr. Linda worked for Salina Public Schools, Anadarko Public Schools, Okmulgee Public Schools and Glenpool Public Schools as an assistant in Indian Education. In addition, she also attended college at Northeastern State University and East Central State. As a preacher's wife, she served as a Deaconess, Sunday School Teacher, Baptist Young Women's Director, WMU Director, Acteen's and GA leader both in the local church and Cherokee Baptist Associational level. She and Bridge served as Home Missionaries for the State of Oklahoma at Indian Capitol Baptist in Anadarko. They served as pastor at Twin Oaks Baptist Church, Okmulgee 1st Indian, Glenpool Mission, and Indian Southern in Wichita, Kansas and presently at Salina 1st Indian Baptist Church. They also served as Directors of Missions for the Cherokee Baptist Association in Tahlequah. In 2002, she was honored as Missionary Wife of the Year for the State of Oklahoma. One of the highlights of her church service was going on a mission trip with Bridge to Panama in 1993. Linda was an avid storyteller and an exceptional quilter. Along with her church service and work in Indian Education, she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking (especially fry bread), watching Walker Texas Ranger and thoroughly enjoyed the music of Elvis Presley. Linda was truly a lovely lady who will be so very missed by all whose lives she touched. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, December 2, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in the First Baptist Church of Salina with Reverend Jimmy Anderson officiating. Interment will be in the New Jordan Cemetery with Jeremy Bacon, Wyatt Chuckluck, Dustin Decker, Jack Harris, Mikey Noe and Kendall Colston serving as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers are Jonathon Chuckluck, Gage Chuckluck, Jaxtin Decker, Tony Russell, Austin Bark, MyKoda Bacon, Immanuel Bacon and Rudy Wolfe. A Wake service will be held on Wednesday evening, December 1, 2010 at 7 p.m. in the 1st Indian Baptist Church at 707 Brewer Street in Salina, Oklahoma. Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Bridge Chuckluck, Jr.; her children, Pamela Chuckluck Bacon, Gregory Wayne and Felicia Chuckluck, David Leon and Cheryl Chuckluck, and Kristi Lynn Chuckluck; her grandchildren, Jeremy and Annette Bacon, Cortney and Dustin Decker, Jayme Chuckluck, Samantha Bark, Chastity Bark, Wyatt Chuckluck, Austin Bark, Jonathon Chuckluck and Annie Chuckluck; her great grandchildren, Adrionna, MyKoda, Miracle, Bridget, Immanuel, Jaxtin and Gage; her brothers, Rudy Wolfe, Ernest Brewer and Darrell Bailey; her sisters, Charlene Blackbear, Tammy and Curt Noe, Cindy Brewer, Brenda Brewer and Tina Brewer; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and an aunt. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Leo Brewer and Betty Blackbear; brothers, Jeffrey Studie and Ernest Brewer Jr.; sisters, Sherri Blackbear and Ernestine Brewer; and one great granddaughter, Aiyana. Linda will be laid to rest near her loving family at New Jordan Cemetery in Salina, Oklahoma.
