Linda Hughes Obituary (2024) - Pryor, Oklahoma (gather.app)

Linda Faye Hughes, a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2024, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 77. She was born on March 21, 1947, in Yuma, Arizona, to Bill and Lavinia Hart.
 
Linda's journey began at Pryor Junior High before she graduated from Checotah High School with the class of 1966. She was known for her loving and generous spirit. Linda had a special way of connecting with people and forming friendships effortlessly. She took her amazing people skills and put them to work at Key Funeral Home for many years and took pride in her job serving families in their time of need.
 
Among her many hobbies and interests were cooking, decorating, and anything that sparkled. Her true joy came from spending time with her children and grandchildren, whom she adored dearly. She loved every moment spent with her family and often hosted family and friends.
 
One of Linda's proudest accomplishments was her enduring marriage to William Hughes. They shared 58 beautiful years together filled with love and cherished memories.
 
She is survived by her husband, William "Buddy" Hughes; son Shawn Hughes and his wife Mary; daughter Sharmie Bartgis and her husband Michael; sister Peggy Busha and her husband Dan; grandchildren Tanner Hughes and his wife Caitlyn, Haley Hughes, Taylor Kegley, Tatem Kegley, Malorie Anderson and her husband Lane; as well as great-grandchildren Chekota Hughes, Timberlin Hughes, and Quinn Anderson. She is preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Lavinia Hart; her brother, Bill "Bubby" Hart Jr.; and her grandson, Tyson Kegley.
 
Funeral services for Linda will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 5, 2024, at the Chouteau Hills Church of Christ with Brother Steve Lay officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Checotah with Tanner Hughes, Taylor Kegley, Tatem Kegley, Waylon Sanders, Keven Hughes, and Johnny Phorn serving as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers include Tyson Kegley, Shannon Shackelford, Calvin Montgomery, Gerald Chalakee, Shawn Armstrong, Gilbert Downing, Stacy Brown, Robert Bendure, Nick Littledave, David McCollough, and Eric Bond. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, April 4, 2024, at Shipman's Funeral Home in Pryor.
