Linda McClain

Linda Lou (Koch) McClain, 69, passed away after a brief illness surrounded by family on Thursday, July 27,2017 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Linda was born on January 27, 1948 in Vernon, Texas. She was the daughter of August H. and Erna P. (Kroeger) Koch of Lockett, Texas. Linda attended Vernon schools. October 15, 1965, she married her soul mate, Gary McClain at the Peace Lutheran Church in Vernon, Texas. Linda started her first job at the age of 16 with Vernon manufacturing company and worked there for 8 years. She then started working in the medical field as a CNA/ CMA at Woods Nursing Home and Vernon State Hospital. She worked for 27 years serving the public sector. She loved being around her family, girls' nights out, singing along to music and watching Big Brother. She was kind, loving, giving, adventurous, funny, and a wonderful woman not only to her family, but to anyone she met. She leaves behind so many wonderful memories that will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 31, 2017 in the Eastview Memorial Park Cemetery in Vernon, Texas. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 1 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel. To leave her family a message, please visit her Tribute Wall at www.shipmansfuneralhome.com. Linda is survived by her husband Gary McClain of the home; daughter, Pamela McClain of Pryor, Oklahoma; one special granddaughter, Amelia Rice of Pryor, Oklahoma; sister, Dorothy Layton of Vernon, Texas and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, August and Erna Koch; four brothers, A.H. Koch Jr., Rudolph Koch, Frank Koch and Walter Koch; two sisters, Myrtle Noack and Annie Burk; grandson, Brady McClain Rice. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wilbarger Humane Society or Pryor Animal League in Pryor, Oklahoma.
