Lonnie Midgley

September 23, 1943 — October 31, 2015

Lonnie Midgley was born on September 23, 1943 in Wister, Oklahoma to Marvin and Marie Midgley. He departed this life on October 31, 2015 in Claremore, Oklahoma. He was drafted into the Army in June of 1969 and faithfully served his country in Vietnam. Lonnie taught school for 40 years for Adair Schools. He loved fishing, hunting and doing taxidermy. He leaves behind many wonderful memories and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel. No formal services are planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, please donate to ACEE (Adair Community For Excellence in Education.) To leave his family a message, please visit his Book of Memories at www.shipmansfuneralhome.com. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Shipman's Funeral & Cremation Service. Lonnie is survived by his wife, Brenda Midgley; sons; Brandon Midgley and Aaron Midgley and wife Christine; 2 grandchildren, Nathan and Valerie Midgley; sister, Cherrie Hunter. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Judith Carruth.
