Lottie Korthals

Lottie Ellen Korthals, 88, of Chouteau, Oklahoma, passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 in Chouteau, Oklahoma. She was born on January 28, 1923 in Chouteau, Oklahoma, the daughter of John L. Bowling and Nellie (Walsh) Bowling. She married Walter Herman Korthals on February 12, 1943 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Lottie held various jobs including a machine shop worker in Tulsa during WWII. She and Herman owned and operated the Pryor Livestock Supply Store at the Pryor Stockyard for several years, retiring in 1980. She enjoyed making ceramics and crocheting. She enjoyed arts and crafts of all kinds. Lottie also owned a dog kennel, raising Pekinese, Poodles and Yorkies. Lottie was a lovely lady who will be so very missed by all who knew and loved her. Funeral Services for Lottie will be held on Friday, October 21, 2011, at 2 p.m. in the Chouteau First Baptist Church with Reverend Mark Hall officiating. Interment will be in the Chouteau North Cemetery with J. D. Walsh, Dennis Enyart, Jeremy Kroeker, Alvin Froese, Jesse Hardcastle and Leon Blankenship serving as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers are Everett Lee Walsh and Ted Walsh. The family will receive friends and family at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday evening. She is survived by her son, Herman (Clay) Korthals of Chouteau, OK; her daughter, Kolleen Kay Korthals of Tulsa, OK; her brothers, L.D. Bowling and wife, Clara Faye of Chouteau, OK; her sister, Donna Lea Allen of Wichita, KS; her four granddaughters, Kimberly K. Henry and husband, Randy of RI, Krissy Korthals of Coweta, OK, Jamie Korthals of Chouteau and Holly Hardcastle and husband, Jessie of Broken Arrow, OK; six great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Kerman Korthals; daughter, Charlotte Sue Edmondson; sister, Farrell Ann Ingesol and her parents, John and Nellie Bowling.
