Louie C. Campbell, 90, of Grove, passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 in Salina. He was born on March 30, 1932 near Pineville, Kentucky; the son of Alford and Zorah (Slaton) Campbell. He faithfully served his country in the United States Marine Corps from April 15, 1949 until October 22, 1952. Louie lived in the area for many years and before coming to Oklahoma he worked as a Policeman for many years and in his later years, worked as a Hotel Manager. Louie was also an assistant engineer construction worker for many years and helped in the construction of Tulsa’s downtown bridges and roads. He married Darline on July 7, 2007 and they have celebrated 15 years of marriage. He enjoyed going fishing on Grand Lake and spending time on the boat. Louie also attended St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Grove. He leaves behind many memories for his family to remember.
Memorial services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Friday, March 10, 2023 in the St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Grove, Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Covenant Care Home in Salina, Oklahoma at 213 N. Louie is survived by his wife, Darline Campbell of the home; son, Louie Campbell, Jr. and wife Jennifer of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and daughter, Nicole McGrady and husband Skyler of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; step daughter, Denise Thompson and husband Derek of Lakewood, Washington; and step son, Edmund Laviguer of Grove, Oklahoma; 2 grandchildren, Gavin and Maddox; step grandchildren, Derek Thompson, Jr of Seattle, Washington and Trevor Thompson and wife Destiny of Gig Harbor, Washington; step great grandchild, Teddy Thompson; nieces, Janel Mullen and husband Derek of Rincan, Georgia and Jamie Jorgensen and husband Robert of Evanston, Wyoming; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alford and Zorah Campbell and his siblings.
