Loyd Smith Sr.

Loyd Dale Smith Sr., 86, of Chouteau, Oklahoma, passed away on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 in Chouteau, Oklahoma. He was born on July 27, 1929 in Chouteau, Oklahoma the son of Millard Smith and Nellie (Schooley) Smith. He married Velda Fern Dinsmore who preceded him in death. He later married Vera Garrison. Loyd worked for the City of Chouteau for 10 years. He enjoyed old tractors and going to tractor pulls. Loyd also worked as a concrete finisher. He will be so very missed by all who knew and loved him. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at 2 p.m. in the Chouteau North Cemetery at Chouteau, Oklahoma with Reverend Jess Dinsmore officiating. He is survived by his wife, Vera of the home; children, Margaret Freund and husband, Jack of Pryor, OK, Connie Phillips of Bossier City, LA, Joann Trout and husband, Jim of Pryor, OK and Loyd and wife, Eva Smith of Pryor, OK; step children, Bill Garrison and wife, Mickie of Jenks, OK, Sharilyn Fuller of Pryor, OK, Marilyn Crisp of Pryor, OK and Peggy Garrison of Kansas City, KS; his sister, Clara Mae Diacon of Mazie, OK; 13 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren; numerous step grandchildren; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Millard and Nellie Smith; his first wife, Velda Fern (Dinsmore) Smith; one brother, Robert Adair.
