Lula Mae Collins, 84, of Pryor, passed away on Friday, November 18, 2016 in Claremore. She was born on March 14, 1932 in Chouteau, Oklahoma; the daughter of Homer Alonzo and Jessie Mae McCleery-Moore of Pryor, Oklahoma. Lula Mae graduated from Pryor High School in 1950. She married James Collins on May 7, 1954 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma and was happily married for 62 wonderful years. Lula enjoyed going to garage sales and also loved music and dancing. She had learned to play the piano, guitar and organ. She always looked forward spending time with her family but especially her grandchildren. She leaves behind many wonderful memories and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, November 22, 2016 in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Fort Gibson National Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Scott Collins, Keith Brandon, David Walls Jr., J.B. Hurd, Curtis Hood and Kyle Catt. She is survived by one brother; Harold Lloyd Moore and wife Barbara of Broken Arrow and one sister, Louise Dennis of Edmond, her six children; Curtis and Pam Collins of Pryor, Vernon and Laura Collins of Canadian, Dianna Collins of Wynona, Linda and Sid Brandon of Pryor, Sharon Walls of Eufaula, and Teresa Stites of Wynona. 10 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grand daughter. She was preceded in death by her husband James Norman Collins, one grandson Michael Todd Collins, both of her parents and two sisters Edith E. Moore and Opal Frances Moore-Dennie.
