LuRita Mae Fischgrabe

LuRita Mae (Ingersoll) Fischgrabe, age 93, passed peacefully in her sleep on October 16, 2024. She was born and raised in Salina, Oklahoma, where she graduated as Salutatorian of her graduating class. She completed LPN nurses training at Scott and White, Temple, Texas, where she met her husband, Ervin. They moved to Muskogee, Oklahoma in 1950, where Ervin was a Surgical Technician for the V.A. Hospital. They were married 63 years until his passing. Many years they were members of the United Pentecostal Church of Muskogee. At the time of her passing she was in long term care at the Highlands of Owasso.

LuRita enjoyed Christian music and was a member of a Christian trio for many years when she was a young mother. Later in life she still enjoyed listening to Christian music on Sunday mornings. She always enjoyed watching old western movies and being aware of current events and news. LuRita and Ervin were loving grandparents to their only granddaughter, Adria, providing care during her formative years.

She leaves behind, her only daughter, Rebecca, of Jenks, Oklahoma and her only granddaughter, Adria, of Owasso, Oklahoma, and a loving sister, Marcella Jones of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ervin R Fischgrabe, her Father, Earl M Ingersoll of Salina, OK, her mother, Della (Brown) Ingersoll of Muskogee, Oklahoma, 8 siblings, Loyd Ingersoll, Joe Bob Ingersoll, Herbert Ingersoll, Genevieve Rush, Delbert Ingersoll, Agnes Holt, Gerald Ingersoll, and Betty Graham.

Interment will be at Ross-Mayes, Salina, Oklahoma, near the Plumlee Gazebo.

Arrangements are under the direction of Shipman’s Funeral & Cremation Service of Pryor.  The family extends their thank you to Shipman’s Funeral Home for their professional expertise with such kindness and thank you to the Nurses and Staff of Highlands of Owasso, which was her home for the last 11 years of her life.
