Mabel Hawthorne

Mabel Louise Hawthorne, 85, of Langley, Oklahoma, passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 in Vinita, Oklahoma. She was born on April 8, 1927 in Spavinaw, Oklahoma, the daughter of William F. Goins and Mary E. (Carroll) Goins. She married Luther James Hawthorne on January 29, 1966 in Reno, Nevada. Mabel was a member of the First Baptist Church in Spavinaw, Oklahoma. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing and crafts. She also enjoyed being outdoors gardening in her flower garden. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who leaves many special memories for her family to cherish. Funeral Services for Mabel will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at 2 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Spavinaw with Reverend J. D. Lancaster officiating. Interment will be in the Spavinaw-Strang Cemetery. She is survived by her children, Larry Lee and wife, Connie Coulston of Langley, OK, Dianna Jo and husband, Larry Lee Wynia of Parma, ID; five grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mary Goins; her husband, Luther Hawthorne; brothers, William Franklin Goins, Jr., Martin Brewster Goins, Bristow Woodrow Goins, Phinas Haywood Goins and Marvin Oliver Goins; sisters, Adra Lee Goins, Stella May Cox, Polly Ann Cohea, Mary Elizabeth Margarite Goins and Eve Evelyn Goins; great granddaughter, Audrey Black.
