Mae Marie (Keith) (Peters) Wolfe, was born on May 12, 1927, near Scraper, Oklahoma. She entered her new realm on November 11, 2020 at the age of 93 years. She was the first child of William Alfred Keith and Jewel Laura (McCurly) Keith. She moved with her family to the Cole Community in 1940. Mae grew up on the farm, milking cows and doing chores. She graduated from Salina High School. Mae married Joe E. Peters in 1946 in Oswego, Kansas and together they had four sons. She was a homemaker until Joe passed away in 1973, at which time she went back to school and then worked the night shift to raise her boys alone. She married Dempsey Wolfe in 1981 in Hulbert, Oklahoma, and he passed away in 1989. Mae was a loyal member of the First Freewill Baptist Church, attending regularly until her health precluded it. Mae lived for her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids! Surviving cancer in one eye, and two major strokes, one leaving her mostly blind, she still continued to live at home with minimal assistance.
